Project Requirements
What You Will Need to Start
In terms of technology, there are a few things that you will need:
~ A Google account: Go to www.google.com, click on the button in the upper right-hand corner that says, "sign in," and create an account with your own user name and password. Bring both of these to class. I also need your email address so I can add you to the class blog.
~ A Voxopop account: Go to www.voxopop.com, click on the button in the upper right-hand corner that says, "sign up! Join in!" and create an account with your own user name and password. Bring both of these to class.
Before you start some of these activities, you will need to create these accounts. Please create them before we do the related activities in class. I will remind you the day before.
Map
You will create your own Google map for this project. It will include which cities you will see and how you will get to each one. Pick one of your cities and pin the attractions you want to visit, the restaurants where you want to eat, the hotel, hostel, or private rental where you will stay, and anything else you want to include. You will present and explain this map to the class. You can look at my own version of a map of Chicago if you need help or ideas. Here's the tutorial on how to make a Google map for our project.

Blog
You will post at least one blog post on our class blog. In this post, you will imagine how you will spend one day during your road trip: what you will see, what you will do, who you will see, what you will eat, et cetera. I have posted a sample blog post both on this website and on the class blog. You may look at it when writing your own blog posts. Here is the link to our class blog: http://beckyling487.blogspot.com/
Need Help?
If you want advice on this unit's final project or want encouragement, don't forget your classmates! Use our class Padlet to ask for ideas, post questions, or gather opinions by posting notes. Find our class Padlet here: http://padlet.com/wall/beckycall487. And don't forget, email me if you are having problems with technology, information, ideas, or just need help.
